Objective: To determine the mean soft tissue facial profile for Nepalese adults with normal occlusion and to analyze the regular patterns and characteristics concerning the craniofacial morphology.Methods: 70 subjects with normal occlusion were selected from all Nepalese students in Chongqing Medical University.Then lateral cephalographs were taken in the 70 subjects

and 11 measurements were analyzed on each radiograph by Winceph8.0.The landmarks were located according to the definitions of Holdaway.Then cephalometric analysis and statistics were made by SPSS13.0.Results: The normal value of Holdaway soft tissue analysis method was established for the adults with normal occlusion in Nepal.Most of soft tissue measurements were similar to Holdaway norms.The norms of X-ray cephalometry showed sexual difference in some soft tissue measurements of the Nepali.Statistically significant differences were found in the Nepalese samples when compared with the Chinese norms;the nose prominence was significantly increased in Nepalese people compared with Chinese

and the Nepalese had rather straight profiles.Conclusion: The craniofacial morphology characteristics of the Nepali are situated between the Caucasian and the Chinese.
