Objective:To study the relation between body mass index(BMI)

waist circumference(WC)and blood pressure

blood lipid and blood glucose in Chinese pilots. Methods:Census was conducted on physical check-up datum among 861 pilots. The relative factors were screened by variance analysis by SPSS 13.0. Mean-square error was carried out by LSD. Results:Among this group 571 pilots’ RMIs were normal

accounting for 66.32%;257 pilots were over-weighted

accounting for 29.85%;33 pilots were fat

accounting for 3.83%. 635 pilots’ WCs were normal

accounting for 73.75%;226 pilots’ were central obeseness and accounting for 26.25%. Overweight

fatness and central obesity worsened with age. Most of over-weighted and central obese pilots are over 30 years-old. Most of fat pilots were over 50 years-old. Levels of Blood pressure

blood lipid and blood glucose increased with BMI and the difference is significant(P﹤0.01). The blood pressure increaseed with WC and WC influenced systolic blood pressure more than diastolic blood pressure. There was no significant relation between blood glucose

cholesterol and WC(P>0.05). Conclusion:overweight and central obesity influence blood pressure

blood lipid and blood glucose. Lack of exercises is main risk factor in pilots. It is necessary to carry out effective measures for overweighted and central obese pilots to reduce risk of hypertension

diabetes

and abnormal blood lipid.
