Cell migration plays an important role in the physiological and pathological processes including wound healing and cancer cell invasion.Cell migration refers to the movement of cells after they receive migration signals or feel the gradient of certain substances.More and more studies have shown that extracellular adenosine triphosphate(ATP)promotes the increase in intracellular Ca
2+
concentration by activating P2 receptors on cell membrane
which constitutes the ATP-Ca
2+
signaling mechanism and affects cell function.Intracellular Ca
2+
is the main second messenger of many physiological processes in the body
including cell migration
and it can induce cell migration by regulating Ca
2+
-dependent signaling pathways. This article reviews the recent studies on P2 receptors involved in ATP induction of increased intracellular Ca
2+
concentration and discusses cell migration caused by increased intracellular Ca
2+
and related signaling pathways involved in regulation
so as to provide new targets and methods for the treatment of related diseases.
