Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic nonspecific inflammatory disease and belongs to a subtype of inflammatory bowel disease, with the features of complex pathogenesis, high incidence rate, and frequent recur⁃rence. With the deepening of research on its pathogenesis, more and more scholars believe that intestinal flora is closely associated with UC and start to try to apply fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) in the treatment of UC, and several research findings have been achieved by now. This article reviews the history of FMT,donor/approach/efficacy/safety in UC treatment, and degree of acceptance by doctors and patients,so as to provide a reference for subsequent studies.
