With the development of science and technology，the use of dental implants for the repair of miss⁃ing teeth has been increasingly accepted by patients and clinicians due to its unique advantages. Most scholars be⁃lieve that initial stability of implants is an important prerequisite for successful implant therapy，especially in low-density bone. Among the influential factors for initial stability，surgical techniques lack scientific evidence. This article reviews the influence of different drilling techniques on the initial stability of implants in low-density bone in recent years，in order to better guide clinical application.
