Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most common malignant tumors in China
with its mechanism of development and progression remaining to be fully elucidated. Zinc finger protein family (ZNFs) is the largest transcription factor family in human genome; more and more clinical and basic research evidences have shown that abnormal ZNFs/Krüppel-like factors (KLFs) expression was observed during the development and pro⁃gression of HCC
playing a cancer-promoting or-inhibiting role; some of the factors show promise for new tumor bio⁃markers or therapeutic targets for HCC. This article reviews the recent research advances in ZNFs/KLFs expression in HCC and their clinical value.
