Objective To explore the clinical application value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS)in thedifferential diagnosis of liver epithelioid angiomyolipoma(EAML)and hepatocellular carcinoma.MethodsThe conventionalultrasound and CEUS data of 40 patients with liver EAML and 40 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma were analyzedretrospectively.Qualitative and quantitative analysis of images were carried out by Qontrast software. The degree of enhancement
arrival time
peak intensity
peak time
enhancement slope and the start time of fading of the two groups were compared.ResultsConventional ultrasound examination showed that the echo types and the number of lesions between the two groupswere significantly differen(tall P<0.05).There were no significant differences in the intensity of blood flow signal
the location oflesions and the edge of lesions between the two groups.Compared with hepatocellular carcinoma group
the contrast-enhancedultrasound examination showed that liver EAML group had more cases of centripetal enhancement and less cases of delayedphase enhancement(both P<0.05).There was no significant difference between the two groups in the enhancement degree ofarterial phase and portal phase.Compared with the hepatocellular carcinoma group
the peak intensity of liver EAML group washigher
while the peak time and the beginning time of regression were shorter(all P<0.05).There was no significant difference inenhancement slope and arrival time between the two groups.ConclusionThere are different blood perfusion characteristicsbetween liver EAML and hepatocellular carcinoma.CEUS is valuable for the differential diagnosis of the two diseases.
