ObjectiveTo systematically review the value of contrast-enhanced ultrasound in the detection of activeCrohn’s disease.MethodsLiteratures that evaluated the diagnostic potency of contrast-enhanced ultrasound in Crohn’sdisease from establishment to January 2020 were searched in databases including Pub Med
Embase
The Cochrane Library
CNKI
Wan Fang and VIP.Two researchers screened the literature
extracted the data
and evaluated the risk of bias of includedstudies based on the QUADAS-2 tool. The Meta-analysis was performed using Meta Disc 1.4 and Stata 12.0 software.ResultsAtotal of 16 articles were included
involving 18 studies. The results of Meta-analysis showed that the pooled sensitivity
specificity
positive likelihood ratio
negative likelihood ratio and diagnostic odds ratio of contrast-enhanced ultrasound in thediagnosis of active Crohn’s disease were 0.94(0.92~0.96)
0.76(0.71~0.81)
3.30(2.60~4.10)
0.07(0.03~0.18)
64.72(27.87~150.28)
respectively. The area under the curve was 0.92.Subgroup analysis showed that the enhanced curve had the highestdiagnostic value(area under the curve was 0.95)
while the presence enhancement
enhancement patterns
and relativeenhancement were less useful(area under the curve were 0.92
0.93
0.85
respectively).ConclusionContrast-enhancedultrasound has definite diagnostic value in the detection of active Crohn’s disease
especially under the condition of using theenhanced curve parameter as the threshold.
