OBJECTIVE: To construct the online pharmaceutical care mode and ensure drug safety for patients

so as to improve the efficiency and quality of pharmaceutical care. METHODS: The internet hospital of Donghua Hospital

Sun Yat-sen University was officially launched on Mar. 10 th

2020. Through the internet hospital

patients could obtain prescriptions

pharmacists could perform online review

and drugs could be delivered home. Meanwhile

patients could be provided with medication guidance and online pharmaceutical consultation services. Data of internet hospital prescriptions from Mar. to Nov. in 2020 were analyzed statistically. RESULTS: After the launch of online pharmaceutical care

the internet hospital completed a total of 521 prescriptions from Mar. to Nov. 2020

the average duration of prescription was 28. 28 d

the average prescription amount was 343. 20 yuan

the logistics distribution rate was 98. 08%（ 511/521）

the approval rate was 98. 66%（ 514/521）

and the time of internet hospital treatment was 65. 4 minutes less than that of hospital treatment

the patient satisfaction increased by 7. 45%（ 98. 76% compared with 91. 31%）. CONCLUSIONS: Online pharmaceutical care has created a platform for high-quality development of pharmacists

provide convenience for patients to use drugs rationally

and enable pharmaceutical care to be effectively promoted. However

from a general point of view

the mode is in the development stage

and the concerted efforts of pharmacists are still needed to better improve the service level.
