OBJECTIVE: To probe into the effect of intravenous chemotherapy combined with radiotherapy in breast cancer patients with recurrence of ipsilateral supraclavicular lymph node metastasis( ISLM) without distant metastasis. METHODS: Case data of 61 female patients with recurrence of ISLM of breast cancer admitted into Beijing Friendship Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University from Jul. 2008 to Jul. 2019 were retrospectively selected. All the patients were given chemotherapy with antharcyclines or taxanes drugs for 6 to 8 cycles and healing radiotherapy. Radiotherapy was performed between the 3 rd and 4 th chemotherapy
patients with positive estrogen receptor
progesterone receptor or human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 were respectively given endocrine therapy or targeted therapy. Overall survival( OS) and disease free survival( DFS) were calculated by Kaplan-Meier method
and differences were inspected by Log-rank method. RESULTS: The clinical total remission rate of patients after radiotherapy and chemotherapy were 94%( 51/54)
the median progression-free survival and OS were respectively 31 and 45 months
the total survival rate in 5 years and DFS were respectively 38% and 22%. CONCLUSIONS: For the patients with recurrence of ISLM of breast cancer
intravenous chemotherapy combined with local radiotherapy is an optimizing choice.
