OBJECTIVE: To probe into the effects of Bimin tablets on the expression level of T cell helper 17( Th17)/T regulatory cell( Treg) in guinea pigs with allergic rhinitis of cold syndrome( AR) and its mechanism.METHODS: Forty male guinea pigs were randomly divided into the blank group
the model group
the Bimin tablets group and the claritin group. The AR model of cold syndrome was established by compound cold medicine +ovalbumin sensitization
and the corresponding drug intervention was given. After treatment of 15 d
serum and nasal mucosa tissues were collected and the nasal symptoms were scored by additive quantification method. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay was used to detect serum immunoglobulin E( IgE)
interleukin 17( IL-17) and interleukin 10( IL-10) levels in guinea pigs of each group. The expression of retinoid-associated orphan receptor γt( RORγt) and forkhead/winglike helical transcription factor( Foxp3) protein were detected by Western Blot. RESULTS: Compared with the model group
the scores of sneezing
runny nose and scratching of guinea pigs in the Bimin tablets decreased significantly after treatment
the difference was statistically significant( P < 0. 01). Compared with the blank group
after treatment
the serum levels of IgE and IL-17 of guinea pigs in the model group increased significantly
the serum levels of IL-10 decreased significantly
the expression level of Foxp3 protein in nasal mucosa decreased significantly
and the expression level of RORγt protein increased significantly
the above differences were statistically significant( P < 0. 01). Compared with the model group
after treatment
the serum levels of IgE( P < 0. 05) and IL-17( P <0. 01) of guinea pigs in the Bimin tablets group decreased significantly
IL-10( P < 0. 01) and the expression level of Foxp3 protein in nasal mucosa( P < 0. 05) increased significantly
while the expression level of RORγt decreased significantly( P < 0. 01)
the above differences were statistically significant. CONCLUSIONS: Bimin tablets can effectively alleviate the symptoms of allergic rhinitis in guinea pigs with sneezing
runny nose and snatching nose. The mechanism may be achieved by regulating the balance of Th17/Treg cells.
