OBJECTIVE:To investigate the efficacy of Pinggan Yuyin heat-clearing method combined with thunder fire moxibustion on dry eye and its effects on tear secretion.METHODS:Totally 140 patients with dry eye admitted into ophtalmology department of Shunyi Hospital

Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from Jun.2017 to Sept.2019 were divided into the observation group and the control group via random grouping method according to the number table

with 70 cases in each group.The control group was given Pinggan Yuyin heat-clearing method treatment

while the observation group received Pinggan Yuyin heat-clearing method combined with thunder fire moxibustion treatment.The clinical efficacy

drug safety and effects on tear secretion of two groups were observed.RESULTS:The total effective rate of patients in the observation group was 98.57%（69/70）

significantly higher than 91.43%（64/70） in the control group

the difference was statistically significant（P<0.05）.Compared with the control group

the drug safety results for patients with dry eye after treatment showed that the incidence of eyeball swelling and pain

conjunctival edema

eyeball congestion and ocular dryness in the observation group was not statistically significant（P>0.05）.After treatment

there were statistically significant differences in the scores of tear flow

tear film rupture

corneal staining

eye fatigue

dryness

foreign body sensation

photophobia

redness

eye pain

eye distension and burning sensation between two groups（P<0.05）

the above scores in the observation group were significantly better than those in the control group.CONCLUSIONS:The efficacy of Pinggan Yuyin heat-clearing method combined withthunder fire moxibustion is better than the single use of Pinggan Yuyin heat-clearing method

and the safety is higher.
