OBJECTIVE: To investigate the adverse drug events and relevant solutions in our hospital

and to explore the influence on the improvement of refined drug quality control management and rational drug use.METHODS: Retrospective analysis was performed on 105 adverse drug events reported by Cancer Hospital

Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College （hereinafter referred to as "our Hospital"） from Jan.2016 to May 2019

and the characteristics

causes

solutions and improvements of adverse drug events in quality control were summarized. The results were applied for the drug quality control to standardize drug management.RESULTS: Among the 105 adverse drug events reported by our hospital

the types of drugs involved were mainly drugs that regulate water

electrolyte and acid-base balance

anti-tumor drugs and adjuvant therapy drugs

and nutritional drugs. By analyzing the causes of adverse drug events

74 cases （70. 48%） were found to be induced by drug quality problems

6 cases （5. 71%） were induced by improper transportation and storage process

25 cases （23. 81%） were induced by improper drug use. Through the investigation of the causes of adverse drug events

the quality control group of pharmacy department put forward reasonable explanations and suggestions for some adverse drug events.CONCLUSIONS: The reporting of adverse drug events in our hospital has promoted the improvement of drug manufacturing process and drug quality

standardized the storage and use of drugs by medical staff

and improved the clinical workflow to ensure the safety of patients’ medication.
