OBJECTIVE:To probe into the research status and hotspots of treatment for COVID-19 based on CiteSpace

so as to provide reference for treatment decisions of clinicians and further study of related researchers.METHODS:PubMed and Web of Science were retrieved to collect literature related to treatment for COVID-19.The retrieval time was from Dec.1 st

2019 to May 23 rd

2020.The duplicate literature were removed by using EndNote X9.2.CiteSpace 5.6.R3 software was used to analyze the cooperative network of authors

countries and institutions

cooccurrence analysis of keywords and co-citation analysis of literature and periodicals were performed.RESULTS:Totally4 051 literature were included.The research results showed that the main core authors in the field of COVID-19 treatment were "LIU LEI"

"JIANG SHIBO"

"LIU YINGXIA"

"YANG YANG"

"YUAN JING"and "LINDSEY R BADEN".The institutions with more publications were Huazhong University of Science and Technology

Chinese Academy of Sciences

Tehran University of Medical Sciences

Capital Medical University

Fudan University and Wuhan University.High frequency keywords were " covid-19 "

"hydroxychloroquine"

"chloroquine"

"immunomodulation"

New England Journal of Medicine and Nature.CONCLUSIONS:Scholars and institutions from various countries have cooperated closely to conduct in-depth research on three aspects of antiviral drugs

immunomodulatory drugs

and traditional Chinese medicine in the field of COVID-19 treatment.Research hotspots mainly focus on evaluating the effectiveness and safety of treatment such as lopinavir/ritonavir

remdesivir

hydroxychloroquine

chloroquine

tocilizumab and convalescent plasma through clinical trials.Meanwhile

the research and development of new drugs targeted at the life cycle steps of the virus and the immune regulation of the body are in progress.
