OBJECTIVE: To investigate the application status and treatment process of antibiotics in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease( COPD). METHODS: Retrospective analysis was conduced on clinical data of 983 patients with COPD from the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University( hereinafter referred to as "our hospital") from 2017 to 2019. Categories
consumption sum
drug utilization index( DUI) and daily drug cost( DDC) were statistically analyzed. RESULTS: During the treatment
the application rate of antibiotics in 983 patients was 100%
among which 735 patients were given one kind of antibiotics
187 patients were given two kinds of antibiotics
52 patients were given three kinds of antibiotics and 9 patients were given four kinds of antibiotics. The average number of antibiotics used in each patient was 2. 35±0. 68. The average consumption sum of antibiotics used was( 1 573. 9±17. 52) yuan. The third generation cephalosporins and quinolones accounted for 33. 7%( n = 331) and25. 7%( n = 253) of the total antibiotics used in our hospital. DUIs in the range of 1. 0 ± 0. 1 were respectively levofloxacin
cefotaxime
cefoperazone sulbactam and fluconazole. The top five drugs ranked by DDC were respectively teicoplanin
imipenemcilastatin
piperacillintazobactam
cefoxitin and cefotaxime. CONCLUSIONS: The application of antibiotics in the treatment of COPD in our hospital is basically reasonable
but there is still room for improvement
and the management system of application of antibiotics in the hospital needs to be further improved.
