OBJECTIVE: To probe into the efficacy of Kelu oral liquid combined with ketotifen in the treatment of cough variant asthma and its effects on immune function and inflammatory factors. METHODS: Totally 150 patients with cough variant asthma admitted into Zhangjiagang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital from Mar. 2016 to Oct. 2018 were extracted to be divided into the control group and the study group via the random number table
with 75 cases in each group. The control group was given ketotifen
while the study group additionally received Kelu oral liquid bases on the control group. The clinical efficacy
immune function
inflammatory factors [interleukin 4( IL-4)
γ-interferon( IFN-γ) ]levels
life quality
and incidence of adverse drug reactions of two groups were compared. RESULTS: After treatment of 2 months
the total effective rate of the study group was 72. 00%( 54/75)
significantly higher than56. 00%( 42/75) in the control group
the difference was statistically significant( P < 0. 05). After treatment of 2 months
the levels of CD4+
CD4+/CD8+in two groups were significantly higher than those before treatment
and the study group was significantly higher than that of the control group; the levels of CD8+were significantly lower than those before treatment
and the study group was significantly lower than the control group
the above differences were statistically significant( P < 0. 05). After treatment of 2 months
the levels of IL-4 in two groups were significantly lower than those before treatment
and the study group was significantly lower than the control group; the levels of IFN-γ in two groups were significantly higher than those before treatment
and the study group was significantly higher than the control group
with statistically significant differences( P < 0. 05). After treatment of 2 months
the activity of daily living scores in two groups were significantly higher than those before treatment
and the study group was significantly higher than the control group
with statistically significant differences( P < 0. 05). The incidence of adverse drug reactions in the control group and the study group were 16. 00%( 12/75) and 18. 67%( 14/75)
with no significant difference( P = 0. 666). CONCLUSIONS: The efficacy of Kelu oral liquid combined with ketotifen in the treatment of cough variant asthma is significant
can effectively improve the immune function and the levels of inflammatory factors without increasing the incidence of adverse drug reactions
