OBJECTIVE: To explore the clinical efficacy of Bushen Tiaojing recipe from the famous traditional Chinese medicine prescription in Shanghai in the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome of kidney-Yin deficiency.METHODS: Totally 60 patients with polycystic ovary syndrome of kidney-Yin deficiency admitted into Shanghai Pudong New Area Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from Jan. 2017 to Mar. 2019 were extracted to be divided into the treatment group and the control group according to the random number table
with 30 cases in each group. The control group was given oral Clomiphene citrate tablets
while the treatment group received Bushen Tiaojing Recipe orally. All patients were treated continuously for 6 months. Changes in clinical efficacy
luteinizing hormone( LH)
follicle stimulating hormone( FSH)
testosterone( T)
fasting blood glucose( FPG)
and insulin( INS) levels of two groups were observed. HOMA-IR was adopted ti observe the level of insulin resistance
and adverse drug reactions of two groups were recorded. RESULTS: After treatment
the incidence of late menstruation and ovarian polycystic change in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group
with statistically significant differences( P <0. 05). After treatment
the levels of LH
LH/FSH
T
INS and HOMA-IR in the treatment group were significantly lower than those before treatment
with statistically significant differences( P < 0. 05). There was no statistically significant difference in levels of LH
LH/FSH
T
INS and HOMA-IR in the control group before and after treatment( P > 0. 05). After treatment
levels of LH
LH/FSH
T and INS in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group
with statistically significant differences( P < 0. 05). The incidence of adverse drug reactions was 10. 0%( 3/30) in the control group
while no severe adverse drug reactions were observed in the treatment group. CONCLUSIONS: The clinical efficacy of Bushen Tiaojing recipe in the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome of kidney-Yin deficiency is remarkable
its mechanism may be to reduce the patients’ LH
T and INS levels
optimize the growth and development environment of follicles
so as to improve the menstrual cycle and infertility of patients.
