OBJECTIVE: To probe into the effects of butylphthalide and sodium chloride injection combined with citicoline sodium injection on neurological function and JAK2/STAT3 signal transduction pathway in elderly patients with cerebral infarction( CI). METHODS: 60 elderly patients with CI admitted into No. 909 Hospital of Joint Logistic Support Force of PLA from Mar. 2017 to May 2019 were selected and divided into observation group and control group via simple randomized grouping method
with 30 cases in each group. Both groups were given conventional treatment
on this basis
the control group was treated with citicoline sodium injection
while the observation group was given butylphthalide and sodium chloride injection combined with citicoline sodium injection. The clinical efficacy
changes in neurological function [National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale( NIHSS) score]
activity of daily living( Barthel index) and hemorheology indices
serum brain-derived neurotrophic factor( BDNF)
neuron specific enolase( NSE)
glutathione peroxidase( GSH-Px)
total antioxidant capacity( T-AOC) and JAK2/STAT3 signal transduction pathway related protein expression levels of the two groups before and after treatment were observed. RESULTS: The total effective rate of observation group was 90. 00%( 27/30)
which was significantly higher than that of the control group( 66. 67%
20/30)
with statistically significant difference( P < 0. 05). After treatment
the NIHSS score of observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group
while the Barthel index was significantly higher than that of the control group
with statistically significant differences( P<0. 05); after treatment
the plasma viscosity
whole blood viscosity
platelet aggregation rate and fibrinogen of observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group
while the serum BDNF
NGF
GSH-Px and T-AOC levels were significantly higher than those of the control group
with statistically significant differences( P<0. 05); after treatment
the expression levels of JAK2
P-JAK2 and P-STAT3 of observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group
with statistically significant differences( P < 0. 05). CONCLUSIONS: The efficacy of butylphthalide and sodium chloride injection combined with citicoline sodium injection in treatment of elderly patients with CI is remarkable
it can effectively improve patients’ neurological function and activity of daily living
which may be related that the therapeutic regimen can further improve blood rheology
relieve oxidative stress response and improve brain protection effect.
