Statins are hydroxymethylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase inhibitors. In addition to regulating blood lipids
stains also has multiple effects such as inhibiting inflammatory response
alleviating vascular remodeling
improving vascular endothelial function and stabilizing atherosclerotic plaque
which can significantly reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Statins are widely used in modern clinical practice
such as the primary and secondary prevention of coronary atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases. Whether statins can cause diabetes is a concern for many physicians and patients with cardiovascular disease. In this paper
relevant literature at home and abroad were reviewed to analyze the existing evidence and related mechanism research on the risk of new-onset diabetes induced by statins.
