OBJECTIVE: To investigate the application status of glucocorticoids and intravenous infusion in simple upper respiratory tract infections in outpatient and emergency department in different regions of China
so as to provide basis for the clinical application and management of glucocorticoids and intravenous infusion. METHODS: The hospital prescription analysis cooperation project platform was used
the application rate of glucocorticoids and intravenous infusion rate for outpatient and emergency upper respiratory tract infection of different ages and years in 7 regions including Guangzhou
Shanghai
Beijing
Tianjin
Hangzhou
Chengdu and Zhengzhou were investigated. RESULTS:The application rate of glucocorticoids and intravenous infusion was significantly different in different regions
ages and years. The application rate of glucocorticoids was the highest in Beijing( 15. 63%) and the lowest in Hangzhou( 2. 31%); the application rate of intravenous infusion was the highest in Zhengzhou( 23. 41%) and the lowest in Guangzhou( 9. 03%). The application rate of glucocorticoids was the highest in young adults( 8. 59%)
the application rate of intravenous infusion was higher among preschool children( 20. 40%)
school-age children and adolescents( 19. 98%). The application rates of glucocorticoids and intravenous infusion were the lowest in 2017 and the highest in 2013. CONCLUSIONS: There are regional and age differences in the application rate of glucocorticoids and intravenous infusion in simple upper respiratory tract infections in outpatient and emergency department
and the application rate of glucocorticoids and intravenous infusion rate is in a decreasing trend year by year. In order to control the application of glucocorticoids and intravenous infusion
necessary measures should be taken to correct the doctorpatient concept of medication
strengthen the efforts of control and promote the rational medication.
