OBJECTIVE: To compare the clinical efficacy and safety between Reduning injection and ribavirin injection in treatment of viral enteritis

so as to provide reference for clinical treatment. METHODS: 90 patients diagnosed with viral enteritis in emergency department of the Third People’s Hospital of Hainan in 2018 were selected and divided into observation group and control group via random number table

with 45 cases in each group. Based on symptomatic and supportive treatment

the observation group was given Reduning injection for intravenous drip

while the control group was given ribavirin injection; both groups were given once a day for 3 consecutive days. Differences in clinical efficacy

improvements of myocardial enzyme indices [creatine kinase（ CK）

creatine kinase-isoenzyme（ CK-MB） ]and incidences of adverse drug reactions were compared between two groups. RESULTS:The total effective rates of observation group and control group were respectively 97. 78%（ 44/45） and 93. 33%（ 42/45）

the difference had no statistical significance（ P > 0. 05）; the cure rate and markedly effective rate of observation group were respectively 57. 78%（ 26/45） and 91. 11%（ 41/45）

which were significantly higher than those of the control group [33. 33%（ 15/45） and 73. 33%（ 33/45） ]

with statistically significant differences（ P <0. 05）. After treatment

the symptom scores of nausea

emesis

diarrhea

stomachache and levels of CK and CK-MB of both groups were significantly better than those of before treatment

and those of the observation group were significantly better than the control group

with statistically significant differences（ P < 0. 05）. During treatment

no adverse events related to the drugs occurred in both groups. CONCLUSIONS: Compared with ribavirin injection

Reduning injection has better efficacy in treatment of viral enteritis

which can effectively improve patients’ symptoms and relieve myocardial injury.
