Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of chloramphenicol prednisone liniment in the treatment of staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome. Methods: Totally 44 children with staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome were extracted to be randomly divided into the observation group and the control group
with 22 cases in each group. Both groups were treated with ceftriaxone. The lesions of observation group were treated with chloramphenicol prednisone liniment and the control group was treated with mupirocin ointment. Results: After 5 d of treatment
there was no significant difference in the total effective rate between two groups (P>0.05)
but the Nikolsky’s sign negative conversion
the time of scarring
the time of molting and the length of hospital stay of observation group were significantly shorter than those of the control group (P<0.01). Conclusion: Chloramphenicol prednisone liniment can accelerate the healing of skin lesions
alleviate clinical symptoms and improve treatment effects in children with staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome.
