Objective:To investigate the characteristics of hypertension

left ventricular diastolic dysfunction and the relationship between heart diastolic dysfunction and hyperuricemia in the elderly patients with hypertension.Methods:Three hundred and twenty one hospitalized elderly patients with hypertension in the department of geriatrics were involved in this study.Among them ninety eight patients were diagnosed as hyperuricemia and two hundred and twenty three were not.Blood biochemical parameters and clinical medical histories were compared between the two groups;a multipe regression analysis between left ventricular diastolic function and hyperuricemia was conducted.Results:①The prevalence of hyperuricemia in the elderly patients with hypertension was 30.5%

and the prevalence of heart diastolic was dysfunction 87.0%.②Compared with HU(-) group

HU(+) group had increased NT-proBNP and higher prevalence of left ventricular dysfunction.③A multiple regression analysis and pearson correspondence analysis showed that uric acid had positive correlation with IVS
