Objective:To investigate the value of insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1) in diabetes for predicting lower limb vascular disease.Methods:138 patients with type 2 diabetes were checked with lower extremity vascular disease in which DSA results as gold diagnostic standard.ELISA were used to measure IGF-I levels.The predictive value was evaluated by ROC and Youden index for cut-off point.Results:With the extent of lower extremity vascular stenosis increased
serum levels of IGF-1 was gradually increased(P <0.05).IGF-1 levels was positively correlated with ABI(r=0.761
P=0.014) for the degree of vascular stenosis as well as color Doppler ultrasound(r =0.796
P=0.021)
and DSA examination(r= 0.856
P=0.008).IGF-1 has a very good predictive value for DM lower extremity vascular disease(AUC= 0.734
P =0.001)
95% of the CI
0.621~0.846.The cut-off point was 180.0 ng /mL.Conclusion:IGF-1 has a good predictive value for diabetic lower extremity vascular disease.
