Objective:To assess the relation between the MRI findings and clinical manifestations in spinal cord injury. Methods:Clinical data and MRI findings in 50 cases with spinal cord injury were retrospectively analyzed
focusing on the relation between MRI sign
prognosis and clinical manifestations.Results:3 cases with complete fragmentation of the spinal cord demonstrated lower signals in 5 and higher signals in 1 T 1WI
while in T 2WI
all of the six fractured ends showed higher signals.Of 47 cases with coherent spinal cord
abnormal signals were displayed in 44 cases.In T 1WI
there were lower signals in 36 cases
iso-signals in 6 cases and higher signals in 2 cases
while in T 2WI
there were higher signals in 37 cases
patching mixed signals in 10 cases;No- abnormal signal but local pressed in 3 cases. Conclusion:MRI can clarify the presence or absence of the spinal cord injury and determine the extent of the injury
very helpful for guiding clinical management and evaluating the prognosis.
