Objective: To study the clinical significance of determining serum anti-nucleosome antibodies(ANuA) in systemic lupus erythematosus patients(SLE). Methods: ANuA were detected by enzyme-linked immunoadsordent assay(ELISA) in the serum of 58 SLE patients
43 patients with different connective diseases(CTD) except SLE
20 patients with non-CTD and 20 normal subjects. Results: The positive rate of ANuA in SLE is 74.1%.Compared with normal
the positive rate of ANuA in the groups of CTD except SLE and the groups of non-CTD was not significantly different( P >0.05) and there was significant difference between the groups of SLE and normal ( P< 0.001).The positive rate of ANuA was significantly different between the active SLE and the non-active SLE. Conclusion: Besides anti-dsDNA and anti-Sm
anti-nucleosome antibodies may be a useful marker for diagnosis and activity assessment of SLE.
