Objective:To explore the etiology of premature ovarian failure. Methods: 104 cases of hypergonadotropic secondary amenorrhea were studied cytogenetically. Results: The incidence of chromosomal abnormalities was 12.5%(13/104).Among them
3 cases were numeral abnormalities of X chromosome and 10 cases were structural abnormalities of X chromosome. Conclusion: The result showed that terminal deletion of Xq and telomeric deletion of X chromosome were important factors of premature ovarian failure.
