Objective. To study the unbalance of thromboxane A2(TXA2) and prostacyclin (PGIa) and the change of PLA2 activity in type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) patients. Methods-.The levels of plasma thrombox- aneB2 and 6 - K - PGF1a were assayed by radioimmunoassay and the PLA2 activity was determined by the im- proved Zieve method
with simultaneous determination of fasting blood glucose (FBG) .fasting insulin (FINS)
triglyceride (TG) and cholesterol (TC)
etc. Results : ①The unbalance of TXA2 and PGI2 existed in type 2 DM patients
and it was worse in group Ⅱ (with microvasculopthy) than in group Ⅰ (without microvasculopathy); ② In type 2 DM patient group plasma PLA2 activity was significantly lower than that in normal controls
but had no marked difference between the group I and the group Ⅱ ; ③ In type 2 DM patient group
TXBz was positive- ly correlated with FBG.TG (P<0.05)
6-K-PGFla was negatively correlated with FINS (P<0.05)
TXB2 and 6-K-PGF1a had no significant correlation with plasma PLA2. Conclusion: (DThe unbalance of TXA2 and PGI2 plays an important role in the onset and the development of tape 2 DM and microvasculopathy; ② The change of plasma secrete PLA2 activity has a close relationship with type 2 diabetes mellitus
but may not be the direct cause of the unbalance of plasma TXA2 and PGI2 and microvasculopathy; ㏕he disorder of glucose and lipid metabolism and hyperinsulinemia play an important role in the unbalance of TXA2 and PGI2 and microvas- culopathy.
