:Objective To evaluate the relationship between P21ras protein and carcinogensis of cervical carcinoma. Methods Expression of P21ras in 10 normal cervical epithelia
47 cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and 56 cases of invasive squamous cervical carcinoma were determined by immunohistochemical method. Results There were no P21ras protein expression found in normal cervical epithelia
while the postive rates in CIN and carcinoma were 36.17%
73.21% respectively with significant difference (P<0.01). There was significant correlation between the grades of CIN and the P21ras protein positive rate (P<0.05). The expression of P21ras protein showed no signifficant difference between tumor grades and clinical stages of differentiation. Conclusion The results suggested that expression of P21ras protein might be useful in early detection of cervical carcinoma.
