Objective To explore the ways of the prevention and the treatment of massive bleeding of PSVP (Presacral venous plexus
PSVP). The experiment with water injected into the PSVP was studied in 20 cadavers. Methods The ruptured ends of PSVP were stitched and ligated along with the veins perpendicularly. The opening of sacral basivertebral veins and artificial passageways were filled and pressed with free omentum. They were also stitched and packed on the presacral vertical ligament to stop water. Water was injected into PSVPs and the passageways of sacral basiverteral veins and artificial ones. Water flowing from sutured area was observed. Results There was no water flowing out from sutured area even under a pressure over 1000 mmH2O. Conclusion This method was effictive in stopping water flowing out from the sutured PSVP of the cadaver.
