Serum prostatic specific antigen in urologic and male genital diseases[J]. Journal of Chongqing Medical University, 1998,(4):385-386. DOI: 10.13406/j.cnki.cyxb.1998.04.022.
Prostatic Specific Antigen(PSA)has received more and more attention as a tumor marker of prostatic cancer. In order to find out the influence of diseases of male urogenital system on the serum PSA level
the serum PSA of 127 patients of male urogenital system and 40 healthy people whose ages were under 40 was tested quantitatively with ELISA.It was found that the serum PSA concentration in prostatic cancer patients rose evidently(P<0.01)
while that of others had not any rise except slight rise(P<0.05)happened to that of prostate hypertrophy and prostatic inflammation patients. So
it has high specificity to use serum PSA determination as the tumor marker of prostatic cancer.
