CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF BETA-2 MICROGLOBULIN IN BLADDER CANCER[J]. Journal of Chongqing Medical University, 1992,(4):287-291. DOI: 10.13406/j.cnki.cyxb.1992.04.010.
serum(S) β2 microglobul in (β2-MG) and its U/S ratio Were studied in patients with bladder carcinoma(34)
non-bladder neoplasms(13)
lower urinary tract infections( 15) and normal subjects(21) by radioimmunoassay. The urinary β2-MG levels in patients with bladder carcinoma (>240 μg/L
79%were significantly higher than other groups(P<0.01). The elevated urinary (β2-MG value corresponds to the increase in tumor stage that urinary β2-MG value elevated in bladder carcinoma were discussed. It was considered that high value of the urinary β2-MG in patients with bladder carcinoma may by released by the tumor cell itself. Therefore
the urinary β2-MG will have a practical importance in patients with bladder carcinoma or hematuria for the diagnosis and could also contribute to the biochemical monitoring of bladder carcinoma as a marker for estimating preo-peratively malignancy and detecting postoperatively recurence
