ANALYSIS OF THE MENTAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE CHILDREN WITH POSTMATURE DELIVERY[J]. Journal of Chongqing Medical University, 1992,(3):223-226. DOI: 10.13406/j.cnki.cyxb.1992.03.016.
We investigated 91 children with postmature delivery in order to study the effect of postmature delivery on mental development of the children. Another 82 children with normal pregnancy and full term birth were studied as controls. Their level of development was assessed by improved Denver Developmental Screening Test (DDST) . It suggested that the mental development of the children with postmature birth fell behind with the children of full term birth. The mental development of the children might be affected in the postmature labor with birth asphyxia. So we suggest that the postterm pregnancy should be prevented
we must save immediately the postmature neonatal from birth asphyxia in order to raise rapidly Apgar scores. Again it is emphasized that the mental development of the children with postmature delivery should be developed early
