uransferrin(TF) and sialic acid(SA) were measured in 40 patients with leukemia and 35 patients with benign hematologic desea-scs. The results showed that compared with tnormal controls

serum α1-AG

α1-AT

SA were significantly higher and TF was significantly lower (P<0.01); during remission period of acute leukemia

serum α1-AG

αa1-AT

SA were decreased

but TF level remained lower. Serum α1-AG was also increased in benign hematologic deseases

but it was lower than that in patients with acute leukemia(not in remission). It was also shown that the raised concentration of sialic acid in leukemia correlated with some kinds of increased acute phase proteins
