The First Hospital The effects of Astragalus membranaceus and Eucommia ulmoides on impaired phagocytic function of macrophages in diabetic mice induced by streptozotocin were studied by means of peritoneal macrophage culture in vitro and phagocytizing Sac-charomyces albicans
and we chose transfer factor as contrast. It was shown that both Astragalus membranaceus and transfer factor could promote phagocytic function of peritoneal macrophages in diabetic mice and the effect of Astragalus membranaceus was better than that of transfer factor. The similar effect of Eucommia ulmoides failed to be observed
