EFFECT OF SOD ON THE HEALING OF COLONIC ANASTOMOSIS IN THE RAT[J]. Journal of Chongqing Medical University, 1991,(4):314-317. DOI: 10.13406/j.cnki.cyxb.1991.04.013.
One hundred and twenty-four male wistar rats were allocated rendomly to control and SOD group. The tensile strength
hydroxyproline contents and histologic changes of colonic anastomosis and MDA contents in plasma were observed on the 1st
3rd
7th day after surgery. The results show tensile strength and hydroxypr-oline contents in SOD group were much higher than that in control (P<0.01 or P <0.05). On the 1st. 3rd. day after surgery
MDA content of plasma in SOD groups was lower markedly than that in control (P<0.05). Histological observation show less inflamation and more bundle of collagen fibrils in SOD groups. The results indicate that the oxygen-derivod free radical may play an important role in affecting the healing of anastomosis
