RCIA AND RBC SOD ACTIVITY IN PATIENTS WITH LEUKEMIA AND MALIGNANT LYMPHOMA[J]. Journal of Chongqing Medical University, 1991,(3):201-203. DOI: 10.13406/j.cnki.cyxb.1991.03.007.
Erythrocyte superoXide dismutase (RBC SOD) activity was measured in forty-six patients with leukemia and sixteen with malignant lymphoma (ML). Red cell immune adherence (RCIA) activity was simultaneously assayed in thirty-nine patients of 46 with leukemia and 16 with ML. Due to some cause
RCIA activity was not measured in other seven patients of 46 with leukemia. The results of our study revealed that marked decrease of RCIA activity occured in both patients with leukemia and that with ML (p<0.0l)
RBC SOD activity was appeared to be lower in patients with leukemia (p<0.01) but higher in patients with ML (p<0.01) . However
there was no correlation between RCIA and RBC SOD activities either in patients with leukemia or in patients with ML. It seems unlikely that the RBC SOD activity changing both in patients with leukemia and patients with ML is responsible for the decrease of RCIA activity. As yet
the actural causes of variability of RCIA and RBC SOD activities are not entirely clear
