We have conducted surveillance on 61 cases for the changes of PFN
CRP and AT-III in the blood before and after abdominal operations
we found that infection and ope ration can cause obvious drop in PFN
AT-III and AT-III:C and obvious increase in C RP.If there is no post-operative infection after operation or the preoperative infection i s well-controlled by operation
PFN
AT-III: Ag and AT-III:C rise rapidly and CRP dr ops readily 3 days after operation
and they return to normal by 8 to 11 days.If postoperative infection or the preoperative infection is not controlled by operation
PFN
AT-III rise slowly
and CRP drops slowly or fluctuates. In those patients who finally died of M OF caused by severe infection
PFN and AT-III continue to be very low levels. This st-udy shows that PFN
CRP and AT-III monitoring before and after operation may help t-o early diagnose infection and predict therapeutic effectiveness and prognosis
