The treatment of 25 cases of arterial embolism has been analysed. 12 cases were treated by surgical operations and 11 cases treated by conservative methods. Although the embolic extremity has been ischemic seriously

it was not gangrene yet embolectomy should be done. Whenever how long the embolitic time is

never give up the chance to surgery. We have a case with an embolism for 18 days

embolectomy still gave satisfactory effect. The Use of Fogarty catheter is the best method for embolectomy in our experience.Conservative treatment is only used when the symptoms are not obvious

even though the effected extremity expresses ischemia
