Parkinson’s disease(PD)is a common neurodegenerative disorder. Discovering and studying the neuroimaging markers of PD helps to diagnose
or assess state of the disease. With the rapid development of structural and functional magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)technology
the existing MRI sequences can detect pathological changes of PD patients
including excessive iron deposition
abnormal water diffusion
blood perfusion changes
decreased neuromelanincontent and structural or functional abnormalities. This article will review current state and progress of MRI technology to detect different parts of brain of PD patients.
