Objective:To compare the efficacy of two therapeutic schemes for intrauterine adhesion. Methods:Eighty patients of Ⅱ degree intrauterine adhesion(IUA)were divided into two groups
each group had 40 patients. Group A were given estrogen and progesterone artificial cycle therapy for 2 months after transcervical resection of adhesion(TCRA). Group B were placed Foley balloon into uterine cavity just after TCRA
and 4 m L N.S. was injected into the Foley balloon. Postoperative estrogen and progesterone treatment was the same as Group A. All patients were reviewed by hysteroscopy to observe the recurrence of intrauterine adhesion in one month and three month and the menstruation improvement was evaluated at three months respectively after TCRA. Results:At one month after TCRA
membranous adhesion was found in 13 cases(32.5%)in Group A and 9 cases(22.5%)in Group B. There was no significant difference between the two groups(P=0.317). After three months
no adhesion was found in both groups;in the meantime
the rate of menstrual improvement reached 86.94% in Group A and 90.91% in Group B;there was no significant difference between the two groups(P=1.000). Conclusion:For Ⅱ degree intrauterine adhesion
it may not be necessary to place Foley balloon into uterine cavity after TCRA. Hysteroscopy second look is a good way to prevent adhesion.
