Objective:To investigate the prevalence of the atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease(ASCVD)risk in type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)in Armed Police Hospital of Chongqing
to provide a well understanding of the high risk(QRISK2 ≥10%)of ASCVD in T2 DM patients and its associated risk factors and to help health providers make right prevention strategies and measures. Methods:The cross-sectional research was conducted to investigate the prevalence of ASCVD risk in all the hospitalized T2 DM patients aged between25-84 years from July 2015 to January 2016 in Armed Police Hospital of Chongqing. According to requirements of QRISK2 test
a unified questionnaire was used to collect investigators demographic characteristics and major disease characteristics
including age
sex
smoking status
angina or heart attack in a 1st degree relative(< 60 years)
height
weight
blood pressure and blood lipid. Results:The proportion of ASCVD risk(QRISK2≥10%)was 82.66%. The average QRISK2 scores in male patients was 1.14 times higher than that in female patients[(23.28±8.77)% vs.(20.31±10.01)%
t=-2.364
P=0.019]. There was a significantly increasing trend of QRISK2 when compared with different ages. Male patients with high ASCVD risk were statistically younger than female patients[(62.43±8.74)years vs.(67.20±7.45)years
t=4.367
P=0.000]. Logistic regression analysis showed that age
smoking
SBP
TG and the chronic diabetes complications were the related factors to high ASCVD risk
and smoking is the most important factor(OR =297.03
95% CI =31.00-2845.66
P =0.000). Conclusion:ASCVD risk assessment of T2 DM patients through QRISK2 score is convenient and effective. The risk of ASCVD in T2 DM patients in our hospital is high
and it is necessary to take effectively management intervention to reduce adverse outcome events. T2 DM patients with high ASCVD risk may associate some factors
including age
course of disease
smoking status
etc.
