Objective:To explore the curative effect of modified Siwu Xiaofeng powder on the chronic eczema
and its effect on the balance of TH1/TH2. Methods:Totally 75 cases are divided into treatment group and control group by random number table. The patients in treatment group received modified Siwu Xiaofeng powder for oral administration while those in control group were treated by Fexofenadine hydrochloride tablets. The clinical efficacy was compared at the second and fourth week after the treatment. The levels of IFN-γ
IL-4 and T-bet/GATA3 in peripheral blood were detected when all treatment is finished. Results:The total effective rate in treatment group and control group at two weeks after the treatment was 63.9% and 38.9%
respectively and that at four weeks after the treatment was 83.3% and 61.1%
respectively. The total effective rate in treatment group was significantly higher than that in control group
with statistical differences(t=4.662
P=0.031). The level of IFN-γ and the ratio of T-bet/GATA3 were increased both in therapy group and control group after the treatment
while the level of IL-4 was lower after the treatment than that before the treatment. The change of IFN-γ
IL-4 and T-bet/GATA3 in treatment group was better than that in the control group
with statistical differences(t=15.31
10.64
8.68;P=0.001
0.002
0.004). There was no obvious adverse reaction in both groups. Conclusion:Modified Siwu Xiaofeng powder is a effective treatment for chronic eczema
and it may resort TH1/TH2 balance via regulation of the level of IFN-γ
IL-4 and transcription factors T-bet /GATA3 ratio.
