Objective:To investigate the relationship between transcription factor forkhead box P3(FOXP3)cells in colon cancer and overall survival(OS). Methods:The FOXP3 cells was detected by tissue microarray and immunohistochemistry staining technique to evaluate the prognostic effects. Paraffin blocks of operation resection of primary adenocarinoma of colon were obtained from ninety patients. Results:Colon carcinoma cells expressing FOXP3(+)had poorer prognosis than those expressing FOXP3(-)(χ2=4.427
P=0.035). The frequency of the presence of FOXP3(-)positive cancer cells was higher in patients with lymphatic invasion(χ2=11.244
P=0.000)and lower in patients with early TNM stage(χ2=7.603
P=0.006). Conclusion:Colon carcinoma cell expressing FOXP3(+)is a promising independent predictor for OS in colon carcinoma.
