The morphologic changes of axillary lymph nodes and their significance after HIFU treatment for breast cancer[J]. Journal of Chongqing Medical University, 2001,(2):113-115.DOI:
Objective: To research morphologic changes of axillary lymph nodes after HIFU (high intensity focused ultrasound) treatment of breast cancer. Methods: 23 patients with breast cancer had HIFU treatment one week before modified radical mastectomy. After operation
sinus histiocytes in axillary lymph nodes were graded. Monoclonal antibody CD68 and S-100 were used respectively to have immunohistochemistry stain (SP) on histiocytes and dendritic cells
the number of them was taken down. Results: The SH was mainly with Ⅱ and Ⅲ grade in group HIFU
and that in control group wasⅠgrade (P<0.01). In group HIFU
CD 68 positive cells were distributed with a great amount not only in lymphatic sinus but in paracortical zones
S-100 positive cells were mainly distributed in paracortical zones. In HIFU group
the number of CD68 positive cells and the number of S-100 positive cells were much higher than that of in control group
and obvious difference existed between group HIFU and group control (P<0.01). Conclusion: HIFU treatment is capable of enhancing the immunological function of axillary lymph nodes.
