Objective: To study the effects of simvastatin and aspirin on C-reactive protein in patients with coronary artery disease. Methods: The changes of CRP concentrations before and after the treatment in 89 patients with coronary artery disease were investigated. Among these patients
27 were in simvastatin group
29 in aspirin group and 33 in simvastatin and aspirin group. Results: The CRP concentrations in the three groups after the treatment were significantly lower than those before the treatment. In addition
the CRP in simvastatin and aspirin group were significantly lower than those in the other two groups after the treatment (P<0.01). Conclusion: The reduction effects of simvastatin and aspirin on CRP concentrations were superior to those of single simvastatin or aspirin.
