Objective: To investigate clinical significance of survivin expression
cellular apoptosis in ovarian cancer.Method: The apoptosis in sit ovarian cancer were identified by the terminal deoxynucleotidy transfer mediated dUTP-biotin nick end labeling(TUNEL) and survivin expression was detected by immunohistologic staining in 50 cases of ovarian cancer.Result: Survivin was expressed in 36 of 50 ovarian cancer(72%).The correlation was found between survivin expression
cellular apoptosis. The 5 year survival rate in the group of survivin-negative cases was significant higher than in the group of survivin-positive cases(P<0.05).In Cox regression analysis
survivin expression and cellular apoptosis index(AI) were indpendent risk factors for prognosis. Conclusion: Survivin
a inhibitor gene of apoptosis
expression abnormal correlated with apoptosis inhibition
