Objective To investigate the feasibility and effect of arthroscopic resection combined with plantar fascia release for heel pain. Methods From January 2015 to December 2017
the clinical data of 43 patients with painful calcaneal spur were analyzed retrospectively. All patients underwent arthroscopic resection of painful calcaneal spur combined with plantar fascia release.Patients in our study were followed up for 6 months to 12 months after surgery.Besides routine foot examination
the VAS score was used to assess the pain of the affected foot. The AOFASAH scoring system was used to assess the comprehensive function of foot pain
voluntary activity
gait and stability. ResultsThe VAS score was (8.71±1.64) preoperatively and (6.28±2.44) at 6 month postoperatively.AOFASAH score was improved from (56.43±3.72) preoperatively to (94.51±2.93) at 6month followup
the difference was significant(P<0.05).ConclusionArthroscopic resection of painful calcaneal spur has great clinical feasibility and superiority with rapid relief of postoperative pain
fast recovery of foot function and satisfactory effect of minimally invasive surgery.
