Objective To investigate the effect of motivational psychological care on the mode of delivery and maternal and fetal outcomes. Methods Eighty-two parturients hospitalized in the Second People’s Hospital of Jiaozuo from January 2018 to September 2019 were selected as study subjects. They were assigned to the study group and the control group by the random number table

with 41 cases in each group. Subjects in the control group received routine care

and subjects in the study group motivational psychological care on top of the routine care in the control group. The delivery mode

and maternal and fetal outcomes were compared between the two groups. Results The spontaneous delivery rate of parturients in the study group was 85.37%（35/41）

which was higher than that in the control group（65.85%

with a statistically significant difference（χ~2=4.232

P=0.040）. The duration of the first stage of labor

the second stage of labor

and the third stage of labor in the study group were significantly shorter than those in the control group（P <0.05）. There was no significant difference in SAS and SDS scores before delivery between the two groups（P>0.05）; The SAS and SDS scores after delivery in the two groups were significantly lower than those before delivery

and the study group was significantly lower than the control group（P<0.05）. The incidence of adverse delivery outcomes in the study group was 4.88%（2/41）

which was lower than that in the control group（24.39%

and the difference was statistically significant（χ~2=6.248

P=0.012）. Conclusion The use of motivational psychological care for parturient delivery can improve the spontaneous delivery rate

regulate the psychological status of parturients

shorten the duration of labor and enhance maternal and fetal outcomes.
