Objective To investigate the effect of the web-based chronic disease management model in combination with modified Bushen Yiliu decoction therapy in the treatment of patients with prostate cancer combined with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM). Methods A total of 160 patients with prostate cancer combined with T2DM admitted to a hospital in Henan Province from December 2020 to December 2021 were selected as subjects
who were assigned to an observation group and a control group via the random number table method
with 80 cases in each group. Patients in the control group received conventional treatment and modified Bushen Yiliu decoction for 3 months. Patients in the observation group received web-based chronic disease management in addition to the therapy in the control group. The overall efficacy
survival time
disease progression time
and T2DM Self-Care Scale(2-DSCS) scores of patients in the 2 groups were compared. Results The objective remission rate(ORR) and disease control rate(DCR) of patients in the observation group were higher than those in the control group
and all differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The survival time of patients in the observation group was(41.26±8.24) months
which was higher than that of the control group(30.11±7.83) months
and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). The scores of dietary self-management
regular exercise
medication compliance
foot care
high and low blood sugar prevention and control in the 2-DSCS of patients in the observation group were higher than those in the control group at weeks 1 and 3 after treatment
and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion The Web-based chronic disease management in combination with modified Bushen Yiliu decoction therapy in the treatment of patients with prostate cancer combined with T2DM has established effects and can effectively improve ORR
DCR and patients’ survival time
as well as improve patients’ self-care
demonstrating marked clinical efficacies. These benefits justify a wider application of this therapy clinically.
